Sunday 20 December 2009

Scribe Update.

OK, this post may be dated on Sunday, but I didn't publish it on Sunday as I didn't finish writing it. All I did was jot the numbers down and save draft.

As it's Christmas Eve, I have better things to do than write an extensive post about it. I still have the Dungeon Finder Tool post to finish :P

So here are the numbers...

Seller #1: 2263 glyphs @ 5g each = 11,315g
Seller #2: 1672 glyphs @ 5g each = 8,360g
Seller #3: 1667 glyphs @ 5g each = 8,335g

Ink of the Sea: 2,704 @ 4g50sg each = 12,168g
Snowfall Ink: 1347 @ 11g each = 15,686g
Cash: 44,752g

For a total of 100,616 gold of which 44.5% is cash.

Last weeks figures were a glyph count guestimate and this weeks are spot on. The ready cash went up by 10K but the total dropped by a few hundred. I can cope with these figures.

Patch 3.3 Gold

Hmmm.

So the glyph books were a blow out. I am slowly flipping them for profit, but that is taking time.

Saronite Ore. Selling for 120% pre-patch 3.3
Saroite Bars. Selling for 125% pre-patch 3.3 very slowly
Borean Leather. Market price not moved
H. Borean Leather. Selling for 100% profit of borean leather equivalent, but not much of a move.

I bought up loads of techniques and managed to sell a few for 99g each so thatwas some cash, but the expected inflation has not really occured to the extent that I had hoped and the rush to get the mats to make titanium and arctic fur hasn't materialised.

The price of titanium hasn't dropped yet and arctic fur's price seem steady. In fact they are 'up' at the moment.

The new glyphs sold well for a very short time but the prices have already tanked down to 3-5g. That is probably my fault for 'heavy undercamping' - the name for my glyph selling techniques. heavy undercutting with as much camping as my /afk schedule will allow.

Sunday 13 December 2009

Sunday Scribe Fun

Just a quickie.

Patch 3.3 seems to have increased the demand and the supply of glyphs so not really a lot of change going on.

Seller #1: 2055 glyphs @ 5g each = 10,275g
Seller #2: 1635 glyphs @ 5g each = 8,175g
Seller #3: 1515 glyphs @ 5g each = 7,575g

Ink of the Sea: 3,342 @ 4g50sg each = 15,039g
Snowfall Ink: 1347 @ 11g each = 14,817g
Cash: 34,348g

For a total of 105,268 gold of which 32.6% is cash.

Cancelling Auctions With Patch 3.3

Seem's that blizz are cracking down on macro and addon automation again. You cannot auto cancel auctions with QA2 or other addons now.

QA2 have found a workaround for now and it is implemented in their latest version, but they reckon blizztards will close that loophole soon.

I guess Arthas is pissed off that with all the auction house cancelling going on that his "Glyph of Frozen Throne Warming" keeps getting undercut. Arsehole!

Bloody Books of Glyphs

The new glyphs do indeed come fom the inscription supply lady. Goddam!

And We're In.

I did my trick of totally logging off and loggin back on and suddenly there were 2 realms available.

One of them was my old realm so I popped on there to see how many addons would break and to empty the mail box of my old banker.

When I logged out the realm for my new belf pally was up so I logged on there and handed in a couple of quests.

Now I'm just waiting for my main realm to arrive so I can sell shit!

Patch 3.3 Errors

I was dubious yesterday about how smooth the patching would go. I had just let Windows Satan, err, Pista ... Vista /spit upgrade itself to SP2. How stupid was that on the eve of patch 3.3? So anyway I did.

I realised the day before yesterday that I had 0% of patch 3.3 downloaded? Why? Because as soon as I exited WoW I would be telling my PC to sleep. Ooops.

So with trepidation I cam downstairs this morning and thankfully the downloader said 788MB / 788 MB so I kicked off the launcher and had to download the last 12MB. No Biggy.

While that was installing I read the patch notes ... again.

Once complete I tried to kick off the launcher and was told that WoW could not execute because of direct x 9.0c couldn't launch a 3D accelerator or something like that.

Uh-Oh. I rebooted the system in case it was some registry or other somesuch gremlin. WoW launcher kicked off fine.

So WoW.exe is also kicked off fine and I enter my password and ... BANG ... "Could not validate Game version number. Please check the support page"

OMFG!!!!! I try inputting the password again ... and CONNECTING ... Authenticator please ... In!!

So for now I'm in. Seems Hydra wasn't so lucky :(

So what am I doing right now? Staring at an empty Realm Select screen!!!

Oh and pro tip for maintenance days. I seem to remember last time I was sat staring at the front screen where you are asked to select whioch realm type and language you want. It didn't update when realms became available. So I was sat there thinking it was still down and everyone was in game. I logged out entirely and suddenly all the realms were available. Coincidence?

Tuesday 8 December 2009

Patch 3.3 Is Here ... Nearly!!!

Yep, In case you're accessing this blog from a cave and you can't get onto ... errr ... the internet ... and ... yeah I know ... whateva.

Anyway, Patch 3.3 will be applied to EU realms tonight.

Sell your titanium and arctic fur. Buy up saronite and borean leather. And maybe glyph books.

Try and log on in the morning and curse blizztard!!

Monday 7 December 2009

Patch 3.3 Gold Part 3 - Saronite Ore / Bars

The idea here is that when alchemists lose the cooldown for titanium transmute there will be a lot of buying up saronite bars (and ores) to be transmuted into titanium.

Estimated Price Change.
The price of titanium will drop from 30g each to about 20g and the price of saronite ore will rise from 32g/2xstacks and bars 32g/stack (my server prices) to the price of 2.5 titanium bars = 50g - which also happens to be the exact same estimate Markco has made :)

Again, it's very possible that every mage and his water elemental will be doing this and the market will flood worse than cumbria and your saronite will be worth shit.

The Back Up Plan.
To counter this event you need to keep however much you are comfortable with in ore form for prospecting and saronite shuffling if that will be profitable or get your friendly neighbourhood blacksmith to make you up bags and bags of deadly saronite dirks (13-15g mats) and then DE them into shards with hopefully a sale price of 20g.

What else? Get rid of any spare relics of Ulduar - BoA shoulder/head enchants are coming and the new fishing competition means that pygmy sucker fish will flood the auction house.

Patch 3.3 Gold Part 2 - Borean Leather/HBL and Arctic Fur

The idea behind this is that come 3.3 you will be able to use 10 heavy borean leather to buy arctic fur. So HBL prices will rise(more demand) and arctic fur prices will fall(more supply). Supply and Demand you see.

So for god's sake dump your arctic fur now. The price WILL drop.

Risky?
But, will the price of heavy leather rise? Well that doesn't just depend on the 'demand' it will also depend on the supply. It may be that everyone and their mangy fucking dog have the same idea and have been stockpiling leather and the supply outstrips demand and the price actually drops.

Work It Out.
So, as soon as the patch drops and regularly thereafter, you want to be comparing the price of 1 arctic fur vs 10 heavy borean leather vs 60 borean leather and then create/exchange to whatever form is most profitable. But what if all markets tank?

DISASTER!!!
You have a guild bank full of heavy borean leather you can do fuck all with except sell at a loss.

NO. You have a guild bank full of normal borean leather that you get your leatherworker to turn into Nerubian Legguards. Then you have your disenchanter and his new macro "/cast Disenchant /use Nerubian Legguards".

Each stack of leather will make 2.5 legguards and each legguard will DE into 2-3 infinite dusts. Each dust will sell for 2-5 gold depending on your server.

Do It Quick!
But be quick DE'ing if market fails. If there are lots of people with a warehouse of leather to get rid of a lot of them will be doing this. You want to sell your infinite dust in the first couple of weeks while there is enough demand to outstrip supply because lots and lots of raiders are enchanting new gear from Icecrown.

The Maths.
You need to check out the prices on your server, especially the infinte dust (Ours has been dropping below 3 gold) to figure out how much you can buy borean leather for in both the good and the bad scenarios.

Good Scenario: Arctic Fur(1) 50g pre 3.3 and Borean Leather(60) 24g pre 3.3. Means they'll probably level out at 36g. That's 12g per stack of leather. You can gamble that buying borean under 12g/stack is going to profit.

Bad Scenario: It didn't come off. You need to craft and DE. Say you get 2 infinite Dust per legguard and your infinite dust price dropped from 3g to 2g. (We're talking worst case here hopefully). So you get 5 dusts per stack of leather which you can sell for 5 x 2g = 10g.

So, as long as you spend less than 10g/stack on leather you should win either way. The only way to lose is if the infinite dust price really tanks.

I have 2 guild bank tabs of leather that I can't wait to get rid of.

Patch 3.3 Gold Part 1 - Books of Glyph Mastery.

Last week I bought up loads more Books of Glyph Mastery. I have been buying up all books under 30 gold in the hope that the price will sky-rocket when the patch hits.

*See disclaimer at the bottom before reading any further :P

The Premise.
What I've heard is that there are 3 new glyphs to be learnt, they'll be learnt from the Book of Glyph Mastery and that they'll need Snowfall Inks.

The Alternative.
But a lot of talk from the PTR is that they are a limited supply purchase from the inscription supplies vendor in Dullaran.

I am banking on the fact that that is just how the glyph is being distributed for testing on the PTR and is not how the new glyphs will be implemented come 'go-live'.

The Back Up Plan.
That's the rumours I have heard anyway. I am a little worried that they'll be trainer learnt, but we get price spikes on the books often enough that I should be able to flip them anyway. I flipped 2 this week anyway when the price shot up to 50 gold each. Earlier tonight the lowest was up for 82g and they're currently at 50g. I'm currently sitting on 70 Books which is an investment of a maximum of 2100 gold.

If they sell for 50g on patch day then they'll make 3500 gold. 1.5K is nothing to be sniffed at for a few minutes work and a few weeks of a little bit of bank space.

So lets hope that:
a) Those glyphs are in fact learnt from the books.
b) There is enough of a demand on patch day from all the scribes to boost the price of these well above the 30g each I paid.
c) That all the other scribes are caught unawares by this.
and d) That my information is up-to-date!

But not only that but I am of course going to learn those new glyphs myself at the first possible opportunity and get them on the auction house. I'm going to have to do this quick before every noob on the server buys out my overpriced glyph books and learns them themselves.

Side Tactic.
If these new glyphs are in fact made with snowfalls you probably want to be stockpiling them now. The scribes may resort to buying SFI from the AH driving the prices up. Herbs may rise in price because of it too. I have been buying up as much as I can in the profitable range. I may try to bleed some SFI into the AH if it's looking good. Either way, I'll have plenty of supplies to keep me going if the AH herbs and SFI supply dries up.

Alternative-Risky-As-Fuck Strategy.
You camp the Auction House. You buy out every glyph book as it comes on and hope that the scribes on your server don't have any books in the bank in preparation for the patch. This way you are the only person on the server with the 3 new glyphs. Keep it that way and sell these new glyphs at ridiculous prices!! I personally won't be following this strategy!

Disclaimer.
I can now not find any mention on the internet anywhere about these glyphs being learnt from books. :(

Tips for Making Gold With Patch 3.3

Over the course of the next couple days I will be explaining how I hope to make gold from patch 3.3.

If you're a regular lurker here then you know I am stockpiling leather, saronite and books. But why?

Well that's what the next couple of posts are going to tell you. I had initially planned to post these on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. But there is a slight chance that 3.3 will hit this week so I'd better get them out there now.

Books of Glyph Mastery

Borean Leather to Arctic Fur

Saronite Bar/Ores

Get moving, some people are already convinced it's patch day tomorrow!!

Sunday 6 December 2009

Schunday Schribe Schupdate

It's Sunday again so it's time for the Goblin Update. From now on I'm also going to include a non-glyph update, which will include JC'ing when I get HW trained up, scrolls when I can be bothered to figure out which ones sell well and get EB a time efficient way to churn them out and sell and tailoring goodies, ie Netherweave bags, when I can be bothered to record these. Not to mention the Leather, Glyph Books and Saronite speculation.

Books of Glyph Mastery.
I used up some of my 3.3 speculation stock to finish off these. I don't really know why I was holding off. But I have 70 books at 30g a pop. 2100g

Trainable Glyphs.
I only have 9 Glyphs left to learn.

4 Minors:
Horn of Winter
Typhoon
Shadow Protection
Curse of Exhaustion

5 Majors:
Innervate
Aspect of the Viper
the Beast
Ghostly Strike
Blocking

Considering I was late on parade to the minor inscription research it's odd that I will nearly finish up both streams glyphs on the same day.

So by Friday I should be done with every possible glyph.

Stocks.
Ink of the Sea: 4,611 @ 4g50sg each = 20,749g
Snowfall Ink: 1357 @ 11g each = 14,927g
Cash: 25,153g

Glyph Sellers.
My 3 Sellers are getting a bit full. They all have a full complement of 32 slot bags. But they are filling up. I am currently considering starting a 4th Seller. Maybe just for the 2 ink glyphs and the snowfall glyphs post patch 3.3. Anyway, I'm going to set an average price on my glyphs of 5g.

Seller #1: 1,920 glyphs @ 5g each = 9,600g
Seller #2: 2,080 glyphs @ 5g each = 10,400g
Seller #3: 2,660 glyphs @ 5g each = 13,300g

Total Assets: 68,976g
Cash : 25,152g
Total: 94,128g

It's going to be fun converting that stock into cash to get the money cap!!

That's still 26.7% cash

On top of that we have the 3.3 speculation Items

Books of Glyph Mastery. See Patch 3.3 Gold Part 1 tomorrow.
70 Books of Glyph Mastery. Current Value:2100g.

Borean Leather. See Patch 3.3 Gold Part 2 on Tuesday.
150 stacks at 8g / stack*** = 1200g

Saronite. See Patch 3.3 Gold Part 3 on Wednesday.
Ores: 33 stacks at 16g/stack = 528g
Bars: 83 stacks at 32g/stack = 2,649g

Total Stock: 4,377g

How did I Do With Pilgrim's Week?

What with milling, crafting, and other AFK parts of the glyph industry I generally find myself walking away from my PC entirely and doing something useful with my life. Combine that with the fact I can't updae my blog from work has seriously impacted my blogging.

So much so that I'm a bit late with the results of my trip through the Pilgrim Achievement.

Boost To Cooking Levelling.
I hope that everyone caught the news from other blogs that this event could you used to boost your cooking skill up to 340 for almost nothing. I bought a few extra ingredients and made sure all my alts bought the book of recipes only to discover I have levelled up all of my alts to at least 300!! Oops!!

TBC Boss Kill Required.
As this meta required you to kill Iksticks or whatever his name is only HolyWarrior and EvilBastard actually got the full achievement. Most of the others alts could probably have gone in a full group but I couldn't be bothered trying to organise that.

EB and HW were going to go in and dual-box him but I put out a shout in /trade announcing I was gong in and if anyone fancied joining me. A level 80 tank whispered me so he came along and made it a lot easier. We were done in 5-10 minutes as the warrior just stormed through everything, whereas I would have been a bit more careful with my pulling.

We did have a bit of a scary moment when EB ran through a load of mobs due to follow-lag or something and then HW got thrown into another pack of mobs and we ended up with about 20 mobs on us. But although that was a little scary we were never in any real danger.

We got to the boss and I remembered too late that you need to run behind a column when he does something. I got half way to a column, but at level 80 he doesn't really hurt you.

He hurt EB though. I neglected him and he managed to die!! He still got the achi though.

Yes You Are a Turkey.
You have trouble finding a Dwarf Rogue? I had trouble finding a troll and orc rogue too so I made them and shot them whilst I was down in Durotar. Then I headed over to Coldridge Valley with the intention of creating a Dwarf Rogue.

No Need, someone else had the same idea...

Great name :)

Shot In The Back.
One of the last rogues that HW needed was a belf. There were several of the bastards hanging around Dullaran refusing to click off their debuffs and just simply pissing everyone off. Then I found one of the stinking belfs in the Scribes building as I was loading up on materials. I quickly switched back over to HW and shot the sneaky little fucker in the back!!

Honourable? No. Funny? Oh for damm sure!!! Christ look at my hair though. Definitely time to visit the barbers and get that achievement ticked off!"

A New Alt

What with 'Clitachasm-TM' potentially only a few months off (yeah an expansion a year my arse!!!) I have been doing things that I might never be able to do again.

HW and EB have been doing the old world loremaster. They really need to finish up the old world dungeon and raids in case anything happens to them and basically anything else that might change. More on that in a later post.

One other thing that I haven't done yet is to roll a belf and work through the belf starting zone quests. So I decided to follow in the steps of Galo. Meet Udikwique (You-Die-Quick). Oh my god what a loladin name!! He is on Burning Legion (EU) and he's gone from 1-20 in a week of casual play.

Another new thing I am trying is playing on a PvP server. Maybe I should have named him Ayedikwique and made him a retadin!

Wierd Build?
I'm levelling him with a hybrid Prot/Ret build that I am making up as I go along.

He currently has some dodge, parry and strength talent points allocated. Has been pretty lucky with green drops (I have only bough him a neck, ring and shoulder piece) and has done the first 2 pally trial quests and has the one to go over to BFD, RFC and somewhere else. Oh and just learnt his level 20 charger.

Level 20 Mount? I can't fucking believe how easy the noobs get it nowadays. I remember the days when you had to be level 40 and pay 100 gold!!! (Pallies still got it free!!!) Now it's pennies and at level 20.

Levelling.
The levelling is nice and linear. Not to much running back and forth and you can knock out bunchs of quests together and hand them in together. Nice.

Bags.
Also the amount of bags that belfs get drops/quest rewards in the first few levels is staggering. I remember back in the day when I got my first extra bag it was amazing. It then took some time before I filled another empty bag slot with a 6 slotter and quiet a while before I was kitted out with all 6 slots.

Udikwique was full up on 4, 6 and even 8 slotters really quickly. But the thrill of filling those empty bag slots is still there!

Proffessions.
Anyway, as for gold and bags. My level 20 already has 100 gold. He is currently a miner / herber - yes I know he should be miner or herber plus skinner but I can't be arsed with skinning, so I just keep a beedy eye out and switch trackers frequently.

I digress, everytime I've been back at silvermoon I've been throwing everything at the auction house. All the herbs, all the copper ore and all the greens.

Mistake 1 - I should have checked out the copper bar price in case it is worth my time smelting.

Anyway, with the proceeds of just one night's set of overnight sales I bought my first netherweave bag for 10 gold and still had 25 gold left over. The next batch of sales came in and I got myself another 2 netherweave bags as I was still finding myself with full bags and throwing grays away is still throwing money away!

Such Different Prices.
One thing I noticed was that low level greens have been selling for ridiculous amounts. I haven't checked the average price of Strange Dust on this server but it must be high. The greens are selling for 2 gold each. And I've even sold some for 20g, 25g and 30g ... WTF?? The login screen says the server is full. Surely the strange dust market is flooded!!!

Come Find Me.
So if your are on a EU server then come find me on horde side and say hello. Don't be shy!

Thursday 3 December 2009

Was Gonna Make Some DM Cards...

... I was on a glyph seller tonight and I just happened to do a quick search for Eternal Life in case there was any on cheap. There were 2 x 20 stacks on at 50% market price. That's 15g each and 40 of them. OMFG!!!

Having just sent that seller's cash off to the Scribe I have to relog to get hold of them. By the time I'd logged over they'd sold. FFS :(

Mohawks!! Mr T!!! BA!!

OMGWTFBBQ????

You may have seen the adverts on TV or just been 'Mr T mohawked' as you go about your Auction House duties. Larisa doesn't like him but what is all this mohawk stuff all about?

Well, some time ago Mr T made an advert for WoW at the same time as other adverts were saying "I'm William Shatner and I play an Undead Mage*" and Mr T's advert came on and he say's "...I play a Night Elf Mohawk" a developer then pipes up and says there is no such thing and Mr T then starts arguing in his typical BA A-Team stylee.

Now with the release of his second advert for Blizztards he has actually made it into the game.

I was wondering where all this came from and whether it was a world event and how you got mohawked.

Then as I was doing the Pilgrims event I was in Durotar and ran into this chap just south east of the entrance to the troll/orc starting area...

And his dialogue is a direct reference to that argument with the dev in the first advert...

I love it - I pity the fools!!! Classic. If you click on the dialogue he then gives you 5 Mohawk Grenades (duration 1 day and unique-5 - WTF??)

* Probably wrong!

Fucking Good Deal

Someone just asked in /trade to link inscription.

I linked him it in a whisper.

He replied back about Darkmoon Card of the North. I though wierd but I'll go with it.

He asked me about where to get Resilient parchments and whether he could get them from inscriptionist supplies. Just BEFORE I put load on the auction house for loadsa money.

I am too honest, I told him yes.

He then met up with me and gave me 40 IotS, 40 SFI, 19 Eternal Life and 20 Resilient Parchement an asked me to make as many Darkmoon cards as I could.

He got 3 chaos and 3 prisms cards out of it (including Ace of Prisms) I got to keep the rest of the mats.

22 IotS: 110 gold (Glyph price)
4 SFI: 44g
1 Eternal Life: 30g
14 Res Parch: 7g

181 gold if I'm not mistaken!! LOL!!!

Scribe Update III

Scribe Gold: 21.3K
Scribe IotS: 11.8K
Scribe SFI: 5.5K
Glyph Stock: 29.5K

Thats 68.1K of which 30% is now pure lovely gold. Yummy. Also have a bank tab of Saronite Bars and a bank tab of Borean Leather waiting for 3.3 and 25 Book of Glyph Mastery. I still have to use some of them though. I will buy up anything under 30g for a book, 6g for leather and 15g for a stack of Saronite Ore and 25g for a stack of Saronite Bars.

The downloader has started. Does that mean we have 3 days till 3.3? 10 Days till 3.3. 17 Days max I reckon. So much for other bloggers estimates of 6-8 weeks. Get buying those cheap mats now!!

Pilgrim's Bounty Achievement Guide

Subtitle: Oh Shit! How Did This Creep up on Me?

(Walkthrough at the end)

Err yeah so anyway. Pilgrim's Bounty is upon us. This is a world event with plenty of achievements but does not count towards the meta with the Violet Proto Drake.

Good Job too, as I did fuck all last year (was it even around last year?) so I would have had to wait till now for my drake...maybe.

But it does give you the Pilgrim title and a Plump Turkey pet!

Anyway it lasts from 01:00 today until 23:59 next Saturday (28th) So you have a week to get gobbling turkeys or whatever the fuck you need to do. On that note...

1. "FOOD FIGHT!" - Bounce food off a fellow feaster. Apparently you need to be sitting at a table. This gets you into a 'vehicle' ... WTF??? ... anyway click on someone else and click the vehicle buttons to pass food, eventually you will get the achievement. Sounds fucking odd to me!!

2. Now We're Cookin' - Cook one of each of these:

Candied Sweet Potato
Cranberry Chutney
Pumpkin Pie
Slow-Roasted Turkey
Spice Bread Stufing

You will need to go to several capital cities to get the ingredients but you'll be doing this for the dailis anyway. Check the wowhead link.

3. Pilgrim's Paunch - Have some food from each chair at a bountiful table AT EVERY CAPITAL. or something like that. Not quite sure. Use the 'vehicle' options to move food around the table then move yourself into the other chairs and eat the previously moved food perhaps.

4. Pilgrim's Peril - While wearing either a Pilgrim's Dress, Robe, or Attire, take a seat at each enemy capital's Bountiful Table. OK, here is the arbitrary travelling part.

Ripped from wowhead to save you the click ...

Orgrimmar - In Durotar, outside Orgrimmar to the south. (46,16)
Silvermoon City - In Eversong Woods, outside Silvermoon to the south by Stillwhisper pond. (55,53)
Undercity - Inside the "Ruins of Lordaeron". (62,68)
Thunderbluff - at the bottom of the elevator to the south-west of the city (40,67)

5. Pilgrim's Progress - Complete the daily quests:
Can't Get Enough Turkey
Easy As Pie
We're Out of Cranberry Chutney Again?
Don't Forget The Stuffing!
She Says Potato

For which you will need:
100xHoney (front of any city)
60xAutumnal Herbs (front of any city)
20xWild Turkey (killed in Elwynn forest)
20xRipe Elwynn Pumpkin (front of Stormwind)
20xTangy Wetland Cranberries (front of Ironforge)
20xTeldrassil Sweet Potato (front of Darnassus)
20xSimple flour (vendors)
20xMild spices (vendors)

6. Sharing is Caring - Pass each of one of these at a bountiful Table (probably combinable with achievements 1 and 3.):
Candied Sweet Potatoes
Pumpkin Pie
Spice Bread Stuffing
Cranberry Chutney
Slow-Roasted Turkey

7. Terokkar Turkey Time - Oh Dear!! - Defeat Talon King Ikiss while wearing a Pilgrim's Hat and either a Pilgrim's Dress, Robe, or Attire.

Should be soloable. Do it in Normal mode. Dunno. Have a go.

8. The Turkinator - Hunt enough Wild Turkeys quickly enough to gain Turkey Triumph.

Errr ... Kill a lot of turkeys ... quickly? People suggesting that just south of Scarlet Monastery is a big turkey farm. Try it out. Macro: /tar Wild

9. Turkey Lurkey - Blast those dirty, sneaking Rogues with your Turkey Shooter.

Blood Elf Rogue
Gnome Rogue
Night Elf Rogue
Troll Rogue
Dwarf Rogue
Human Rogue
Orc Rogue
Undead Rogue

Where do you get a Turkey Shooter? Fuck Knows!!

LOL - dual boxing FTW - or hang around Dullaran - or do some BGS - good luck finding the Dwarf!!

Anyway - There you go, do all that crap and you have a nice title and a fat pet. Or is it a fat title and a nice pet. WHATEVA!

The Walkthrough:

(So the turkey shooter is a quest reward from the dailies)!

Get the starter quest (Pilgrim's Bounty) from quite a few places. For this guide we will be getting it from outside the inn near the bank in Stormwind. So go get it then come back here KK. You can get it from many different places. They all send you to Stormwind.

If you are in IF pop outside and grab 25 Cranberries. If you're in Darn, grab 25 Sweet Potatoes.

Now we head off outside Stormwind, but only just, to hand it in to Gregory Tabor and then pick up quest: Spice Bread Stuffing.

Now click the Bountiful Barrel next to Gregory and purchase the Bountiful Cookbook. Woah!! 5 Recipes!!!

Learn them.

If you have plenty of bag space you could buy up everything you need for both days and save yourself a little travelling.

Also get 5 Autumnal Spices, 5 Ripe Elywnn Pumkin, 5 Honey, 5 mild spices and 5 simple flour.

Do NOT make anything yet. You have to prepare things when you have the quests.

Make 5 spice bread then make the stuffing from these 5 bread and 5 autumnal spices.

Hand these in to Jasper Moore now Pick up Pumpkin Pie.

Now make the Pumpkin Pie. These will be going to Ironforge.

Now pick up the quest Sharing a Bountiful Feast. Sit in each chair and use the vehicle button for that particular chair's food. i.e sit in the cranberry chair and click in the 'Feast on Cranberries' icon. Do this for each chair at the table.

While at the table When someone else sits down, click on them and then click on button one 'Pass the Turkey' - twice or more to get the "FOOD FIGHT!" achievement. Also. When in each chair pass food to another player . When you have passed food from each chair you will get the Sharing is Caring Achievement.

Once you have eaten 5 items at each chair you will be able to complete the Sharing a Bountiful Feast quest.

Now buy 20 Elwynn Pumpkins, 60 Autumnal Spices, 105 Honey, 20 Mild Spices and 20 Simple Flour.

Grab the 'She Says Potato' daily.

Grab the 'We're Out of Cranberry Chutney Again' daily.

Head out into Elwynn and kill 40 Turkeys quickly for the Turkinator. Once every 30 seconds you must kill a turkey. If you find Elwynn a pain in the ass, then fuck it off, just make sure you have looted 20 Wild Turkeys from the corpses.

Head to Ironforge (don't HS) and go outside. Hand in Pumpkin Pie to Edward Winslow and pick up Cranberry Chutney.

Grab 25 Tangy Wetlands Cranberries and make 25 Cranberry Chutney 5 for the quest and 20 for the daily.

Grab the Dailes "Don't Forget The Stuffing" and "Can't Get Enough Turkey"

Make 20 Spice Bread then 20 Spice Bread Stuffing then hand in the daily to Caitrin Ironkettle and pick yourself up a Turkey Shooter.

If you see a rogue (that hasn't be feather basted, then shoot him with the Turkey Shooter.

Now using the dead stinking salmonella-ridden turkey corpses you picked up in Elwynn Forest make 20 Slow-Roasted Turkey and hand in another daily to Caitrin and pick up the Pilgrim Hat.

Do your 5 bits of food at each chair at a table and then it's time to head out.

Pop back to Stormwind and hand in Cranberry Chutney and get They're Ravenous in Darnassus (5 more simple flour, mild spices, pumpkin, honey and autumnal herbs). Cook up 5 more Spice Bread Stuffing and 5 Pumpkin Pies.

Now HS then head to Darnassus and grab the "Easy As Pie" daily from Mary Allerton.

Cook up the pumpkin pie and hand in and pick up a pilgrims chest piece. Whichever suits you best :)

Also hand in the Ravenous quest to Issac Allerton in Darnassus and get the Candies Sweet Potatoes quest.

Buy 25 Teldrassil Sweet Potato from the Bountiful Barrel by the road and cook up 25 Candied Sweet Potato. This should give you Now We're Cookin' achievement.

Now do the eating 5 things at each of 5 bountiful table chairs.

Time to head to the Exodar. And do your 5 food shuffle malarky. This should give you your Pilgrim's Paunch achievement

Now off to Mulgore, put on whatever chest piece you decided on and then sit at a table at the bottom of the elevator to the south-west of the city (40,67). Now Durotar outside Orgrimmar to the south. (46,16) and repeat. Head back over to Ironforge and up to Chillwind Camp.

If you haven't got your The Turkinator yet then head up to the area just south of the Scarlet Monastery and get that sorted, otherwise head straight to Undercity and go sit at one on the tables inside the "Ruins of Lordaeron" at (62,68)

Now head up to Silvermoon and sit at the table in Eversong Woods, outside Silvermoon to the south by Stillwhisper pond. (55,53). You should get the Pilgrim's Peril achievement.

Head back to Stormwind to hand in the 2 dailies and pick up a couple of Turkey Shooters. The 2 dailies should award you Pilgrim's Progress. Also hand in the Candied Potatoes quest and get Slow-Roasted Turkey quest. Acquire 5 more turkeys. Buy 10 Honey and 5 Herbs and roast up some turkey.

Now go to Dullaran. Shoot a couple of rogues with the Turkey Shooter (make sure they haven't already been shot and that you still need them for Turkey Lurkey).

When you've used your 3 shots up head over to Sethek Halls and solo King Ikkis or whatever his name is, while wearing your Pilgrim's Hat and chest piece. This should give you Terokkar Turkey Time.

If you're bored, then head on over to Darnassus and hand in the turkey quest which rewards a "Turkey Caller" otherwise wait till you're over there tomorrow.

Day 2 - Another Set of Dailies.
We still need 5 turkey guns so we need to do the full set of dailies again.

So assuming you are in Stormwind you need to kill enough turkeys so that you have the 20 turkeys.

Now buy 20 simple flour and 20 mild spices and cook them up for the spice bread then pick up 60 Honey, 40 Autumnal Herbs and 20 Pumpklins and cook up 20 spicy stuffing, 20 Pumpkin Pie and 20 Slow Roasted Turkey.

Head to Ironforge, get the two dailies and hand them in then buy 20 Tangy Wetland Cranberries and 20 more Honey and make 20 Cranberry Chutney.

HS then portal to Darnassus.

Get the Pumpkin daily then hand it in. Buy 20 Teldrassil Sweet Potatos, 20 Honey and 20 Herbs and make 20 Candied Sweet Potato.

Get your ass back to Stormwind by any means neccessary and hand in the last 2 dailies.

You now have 5 Turkey Guns; use them on the other 5 rogues you need for Turkey Lurkey.

You should now be a Pilgrim and recieve a turkey in the post!!

So Near Yet So Far (Quick Scribe Update)

I was on my scribe bringing in all the days sales and the latest COD for snowfalls came in. The scribe is now my richest character, he got very close again to overtaking HW's 16K earlier in the week but then herbs appeared cheap in bulk on the AH again and he filled up 3 bank tabs with snowfalls and IotS's!!!

But then Chap wanted 240 Snowfalls, so this was a nice addition to the bank...

And this brought my scribes total to so close to 20K.

Friday 20 November 2009

Snowfall Profit

I have a good relationship with another scribe on our server. He does cards. I don't go into competition with him (not on any characters he knows about anyway!!!). I do glyphs. I sell him my snowfall ink for as low as 11g 25s if he buys in bulk. This obviously reduces my cost/glyph price :)

He usually buys a couple of stacks at a time which is very nice. The other day I got this mail from him...

Of course I oblige and even knock a few gold off the bulk price just to have a nice round number ...

Loremaster of Kalimdor and other Loremaster Crap

Phew, that was tiring. HolyWarrior had over 200 quests to do to get that done. So did EB. They finished up in Desolace and also got a load of Mara quests. Into Mara they went, they conquered and then went to hand in.

HW hit loremaster, unfortunately EB had done Desolace more extensivley while levelling so Mara did not give him enough quests. EB has to fo Syphillus... YAWN.

HW only has 3/4 of Netherstorm to do for Outland. EB has only 4 Outlands quest achievements done. Not even Hellfire!!

Mind you I don't think HW has the Poo quests done in Hellfire so they may do them together. EB only needs 4 Hellfire quests done. Time to go rumaging through shit :P

Sunday Goblin Update

Err, the same title as the last post. Oops, seems I have been so busy at work there have been no blog posts.

Anyways. Seems my normal bank er had to send 1100 gold to my scribe for sales of cards and runesrcolls that I had not considered. Normal banker is still around 12K Scribe is around 15K.

Scribe has a 32 slot bag of ink and about 400 SFI.

The crash and burn failed. I was turning over a ridiculous amount of glyphs that my stocks of ink were running low. To add to that one of my competitors is obviously very clever and kept the AH dry of herbs. So I reset my parameters to normal levels.

I 'say' it failed. I can't really say. I don't know if I lost any minor competitors. I know my 3 main competitors are still around (they may be alts of the same)

I am now making big money per sale again so I will continue that until I am fully stocked on inks to try again.

Sunday 8 November 2009

Sunday Goblin Update

So. The Crash and Burn cycle is in full swing. No hate mail yet though.

I had a look into how many glyphs I still don't know. It's about 80. 50/50 books and learning.

So I bought 10 books up, ranging in price from 20-50gold. Never more than 50 gold.

I also kicked off my 3rd seller. He has shaman and paladin glyphs. Will also have the druid glyphs soon. Will call him my Hybrid Seller.

Also I tried to send my Scribe some cash. It wouldn't allow it. I logged out and WHOAH!!! his name has changed. I tried to log on and it said he was flagged for a name change. OOOPS!!!

I am aware that I am going to break my paranioa clause here. I have hidden every single piece of information that could lead you to my server and indeed my actual name. But I am now going to give away the first ever clue as to who I am.

I reside on an RP server. My scribes name (and indeed a lot of my alts) do not have very RP names. Someone complained obviously. My scribe has a new name!!

So to the state of the bank...

NormalBanker: 12,362g
Melee GS: 2160 glyphs ~ 5K-10K
Hybrid GS: 1000 glyphs ~ 2K-5K
Caster GS: 2000 glyphs ~ 5K-10K
Scribe: 3.5Kg SFI 500g IOTS 12,960g CASH

So the scribe has officaly overtaken the normal banker in the cash stakes.

If we use the upper end of stock values we are looking at 2:1 assets to cash. Looking better.

Report coming soon on how many more glyphs I need to learn.

Friday 6 November 2009

Crash and Burn

The great glyph market crash of 2009 seems to be going well. Most glyphs are down into the 2-3g region now. I get a lot of fallbacks going to 3g now and I have had my first gevlonesque question.

Comp: Hi m8
Me: Hello? You better not say gold or power-level in your next /w
Comp: why you sellin glyphs for 3g when they go for 17g
Me: Ah. Not a scumbag gold seller then. Good :)
Comp: no lol
Me: In answer to your question - to sell them?
Comp: Hmmm ... Okay.

OK, so it's not the converstion I wanted to have so that I could SS and send to Gevlon, but I am sure that will come.

I don't have every single glyph yet, but I must have realy pissed some people off by now. Especially when I caught a farmer selling up icebloom and lichbloom for under 15g per. I blew 3K gold on that alone!! I am well stocked. Did I mention I bought a guild with 5 bank tabs for 700G?

Yeah. 700gold for FIVE FUCKING BANK TABS - YEAH BABY!!!

So, no screenies for Gevvy Baby yet, but a huge increase in glyph sales and about a 30-50% increase in turnover. Profit? Near non-existant obviously.

All's fun in Glyphs and War :)

Thursday 5 November 2009

Crashing the Glyph Market

So I went for it last night. Obviously it started slow as I just changed my parameters and went through the usual cancel/post cycle that Gevlon loves so much with QA2.

SO anyway, it took a couple of extra scans this morning to kick into overdrive and really drive the market down.

Why do I want to crash the market?

a) To get hate-mail to send Gevlon
b) To drive away the mmo-chumptards
c) Make a name for myself as an arsehole :P

So What Did I Do?
Well, I lowered my threshold single-ink glyph price to 1g48s and my double-ink glyph price to 1g98 and I put a threshold on of 3g.

Result? Well, I have had shed loads more sales than usual. Albeit at much smaller profit. And someone is actually trying to buyout all my sales. I logged on 30 mins ago to check my sales and every single glyph that had sold in the last hour on both sellers was to the same buyer!!

Guess he wants to reset the market! Well, tough shit, I just reposted. And I may have to raise my quantity up from 3 to disuade these types of chaps.

Profitless Strategy? Nope I have made twice today what I normally make :)

Wednesday 4 November 2009

The Race is On

Normal Banker: 11,579g
New Glyph Account: 11,710g

The glyph syndicate has overtaken the 3 year old auction house worker. Hmmmm.

Now. Who is going to overtake my main first? HW was up to 16K but spent shit loads on epic gems and is down at about 14.5K.

Tuesday 3 November 2009

Deep Undercut AND Camp?

My server is a high pop server. There is a lot of Glyph competition. To drive them out I am having to combine Gevlon's heavy undercutting (and more) with some camping.

I have been cancelling and relisting 3 or more times a day with a 99s 99c undercut. I may have to bring my fallback down to around break-even + 1 gold.

Lets seen how the competition likes that!!

How low can I go? Well I have a semi regular buyer for Snowfall Ink at 12g a pop and I'll buy my herbs at 9g/stack for low levels and 18g/stack for high levels.

So as a minimum I can offset 6g (half a snowfall) from 9g leaving 3g for 10 pigments. Or 3g for 5 Ink of the Sea. That's 60s per Ink plus 40s per parchment.

1g for a single ink glyph and 1g60s for a double ink glyph.

Throw in a 5% AH cut I -could- go as low as 1g05s and 1g76s to drive the competition out. I may try 1g50s and 2g to start with. Just to see how much hate mail I can generate!!!

OK. I have set thresholds to 1.5 and 2 gold. With a fallback of 4g. Let the fun begin. Hate mail will be delivered to Gevlon :)

Inscription Closing the Gap Fast

I've had a bank character that has been selling crap and prospecting the AH on and off for 3 years. He's sat at around 11.5K gold.

My Scribe is catching up fast. Last night he hit 11.4K gold before he spotted a farmer dump some Adder's Tongue on the AH. I imagine by tonight he will have overtaken the old banker!!

Monday 2 November 2009

EvilBastard's Violet Proto Drake

It took an extra few days for EB to get the Sinister Squashling and the Hallowed Helm to drop. But drop they did. Both in the same run and EB won the roll against all other party members for both of them. That is not my usual luck.

And yes, I know. EvilBastard is spelt wrong in the screenshot!

Sunday 1 November 2009

Gold Update Sunday

The Inscription business is now running at:

8300 gold
28100 gold worth of stock

just under 25% cash/asset

That is all.

Goblin Funday

It's Sunday. It's a Goblin Post. I think it's funny. It's Goblin Funday.

So, carrying on from last nights goblin hint. Bread of the Dead for 5gold each.

Make sure you advertise them like this...

Why? Well, you're not actually giving away too much information.

You will get the sales...

But then you want some repeat business. Eh? I hear you ask. How can you get repeat business from a one off quest reward?

Well...

and..

Day of the Dead Money Making Opportunity

Buy Simple Flour and Ice Cold Milk.

Make Bread of the Dead

Sell it for 5g each at the city graveyard.

Win!

Saturday 31 October 2009

Day of the Dead Achievement Update

I started examining this event here, so here is what I have learnt since ...

OK so Catrina and Champman are both in faction city graveyards. Nice and easy.

At 01:00 I'll have a rather large bet that there were shit loads of people in the graveyard and that there was a fucking wooly mammoth sat on top of the NPCs.

No problems. /tar catrina (cos there is always some twat who created a level 1 called catrinna) and then /dance. BANG you have the achievement.

Then /tar Chapman and then hit the button you have bound in your keybindings (Under Targetting Functions) to interact with target. Buy the flowers off him and then bread recipe and then make the bread.

Equip the Orange Marigolds and then use them. A Cheerful Spirit will appear and will want some bread of the dead. That you have just made from the simple flour and ice cold milk you brought with you.

Accept quest and then hand it in. You now have the Macabre Marionette pet that only lasts for the 2 days of the event.

Now spam /1 /s and /y that you are selling bread for 5g a piece and rake in the gold :)

Friday 30 October 2009

Weekly Update

OK, so a goblin update is going to get boring every couple of days, so It's gonna become weekly.

Sunday evening it'll be. For the moment it will simply have a stock valuation, a gold amount and a total.

The bi-daily totals so far have been

28/10 33322g
30/10 34848g

Now todays gold total is actually made up of:

4742 gold
449 Ink of the Sea converted up to 5g glyph sale average (minus parchment cost)
522 Snowfall Ink at 12g
2140 Glyphs on my Melee glyph seller
2100 glyphs on my caster glyph seller

So that will equate to:
4,842 real gold (50g stash on each seller)
30,006 gold in stock

HolyWarrior will be going JC over the weekend so I may have to be adding him into the mix, then either of my leatherworkers will be looking at tricks, and fo course I'll be looking to churn out shit loads of netherweave bags.

Ho Hum, goldcap is still a long way off :(

Money From Snowfalls ... At Friggin Last

As reported maybe I should have held out on the Chaos deck...

And this was even more annoying. Waiting 48 hours for this bid money to come in. What was even funnier was that if they had waited 2 hours 4 buyouts would have come in and undercut my bid price!! HAHHAHAHHAHHAHHA.

Kvaldir in Goldshire ... Errrrrrr ... WTF

So there I am minding my own business in Goldshire, just finished perfecting the getting on the Inn roof and pop inside to try my luck with the hourly trick or treat to get the Hallowed Helm which is the last thing I need for my level 60-something druid to get the Hallowed Achievement. {and ... breath}.

Did I tell you the fucker now has 2 Sinister Squashlings? Yeah. FFS!

Anyway, out of nowhere this Angry Kvaldir comes charging out of the Goldshire Inn kitchen...

... I mean WTFF?? FUCK!!

Thursday 29 October 2009

Darkmoon Cards Part 2 - ARgggg

What with the Darkmoon Faire coming Alliance side soon I can see the price of Eternal Life going up. 2 days ago they were going for as low as 10g now it's 20g-30g

So I bought up 48 Eternal Lifes at an average to 25g each - that's 1200g.

Enough to make 16 darkmoon cards. Thats 96 Snowfall Inks. 1152g

9g worth of Parchement and 96g worth of IotS

For a total of 2,457g (I think)

16 cards should give me 4 nobles cards on average. What do I get?
3 undeath cards (value ~ 500g)
4 Prisms cards (value ~ 200g)
8 Chaos cards (value ~ 300g)
1 YES - FUCKING ONE Nobles Cards (value 350g)

Total spent: 2450g
Total possible returned: 1350
Total Loss (Best Case): 1100g

Fucking get in there RNG - You Bastard!

So I did a bit of swapping and buying and made the Chaos deck which MAY sell for 450g.

Fingers crossed that'll bring the loss down to 1K gold. FUCK!

Yes I am taking into account a snowfall ink price of 12g. I no longer consider them a free bi-product of milling. I factor in a price of snowfall so I can spend more on inks and keep my IotS price down at 2g a pop.

EDIT: Good Fucking God. That Fucking Chaos deck already sold. I thought I was risking it put it up at 125% auctioneer value at 499g. But NO. It sold within hours, returning my 9gold deposit but taking a 25gold cut giving me 484 gold. Maybe I should have held out for more??

Overun With Snowfall Ink. Lets Make Nobles Cards

As I was up to 700 Snowfall Inks (yes - more than a 32 slot bag full of Inks!!!) I decided it was time to up my game getting rid of them.

I have 8 batches of 6, 1 batch of 5 and 5 singles. Woopy-Fucking-Doo. So I thought I'd diversify from just selling the inks and the runescrolls. I made up a Faces of Doom, an Iron-Bound Tome and then bought up loads of Eternal Life and made 7 Darkmoon Cards.

So Profit/Loss?

Faces of Doom:
5 Snowfall - 60g
10 Res Parchment - 5g (50s is easier on the maths than 40s!)
1 Frozen Orb - 25g
2 Ink of the Sea - 4g
Total Cost: 94g
Sold for 190g (after AH cut)
Profit: 96g

Iron-Bound Tome:
Same costs as above
4g AH cost
Unsold.
Profit: -98g

Darkmoon Card:
1 Res Parch - 50s
6 Snowfall Ink - 72g
3 Eternal Life - 75g
3 Ink of the Sea - 6g
Cost Each: 153g 50s
Made:7
Total Cost: 1050g
Result: 5 Chaos Cards (AH value 20-40g)
Six of Nobles - 396g
Seven of Nobles - 881 bid currently
Five of Chaos - 33g
3 unsold cards deposit - 2g
Total Sales: 1306g
Profit: 250g

So I got rid of 2 stacks of Snowfalls and made about 300g so far, with some stuff still in stock to sell. Off to buy more Frozen Orbs and Eternal Lifes.

Day of the Dead Freebie Achievement and Other Mindless Crap.

OK, So Hallows End finishes at 1 minute to midnight on Halloween. Hmmm not long to get your sinister squashling and hallowed helm.

I have had my alts running round Azeroth getting nice XP from the candy buckets but that will soon come to an end.

When Hallow's End finishes at 23:59 you have a whole hour to kill at the Darkmoon Faire picking up your trinkets. You did buy up all my snowfall ink and/or Nobles Cards didn't you? No? Well go and fucking buy them then...quick!!

Speaking of which I currently have a 881g bid on the 7 of Nobles. This is my first one ever. Is this usual?

Anyway, so after you have spent that hour with the DF You have a 2 day event called Day of the Dead. Yeah TWO day event called DAY of the ...

WTF Blizz??? It starts at 01:00 on 1st November and ends at 23:59 on the second. Thats TWO fucking days Blizz.

Is it called TWO DAYS of the Dead? No? Why not Blizz?

Pfff, so anyway. What is it about? Well to start with there is meta-free achievement caled Dead Man's Party which has you dancing with Catrina.

No-one as yet seems to know where she is, but there is good betting that she likes hanging out around stiffs near Uther's Tomb.

Also, there is talk of 12 quests all called Grateful Dead which has you getting a new cooking recipe (as of patch 3.2.0) and cooking up some [Bread of the Dead], the recipe for which you get from an unknown NPC called Chapman, and feeding it to ghosts in city graveyards.

12?

I'm guessing 5 faction cities each + Shittrath + Dullaran.

Also, you may also need a Flower of the Dead just to see these guys that you give the dead bread to to complete the quest...

So...

1. /dance with unknown NPC called Catrina in an unknown location
2. Get recipe from unknown NPC Chapman for some bread (just flour and milk apparently. Nice Bread!!)
3. Get a Flower of the Dead from FUCK KNOWS WHERE
4. Use flower in each graveyard so you can see a cheerful NPC and then give the bread to said Cheerful spirit for an unknown reward.

I don't know about you guys but it sounds like a great way to spend my weekend :P

What a Long Strange Trip...

On the 2nd day of Hallows End HolyWarrior picked up A Sinister Squashling. It was the last summon of the day. He got a little excited in party chat.

When I got back to Dullaran look at what was waiting in my mail box...

And I got straight on and went for a quick *310% flight

*Allegedly.

Money Money Money

OK, went away to a wedding this weekend. 15:00 Friday - 16:00 Sunday with no WoW. So I slammed all my glyphs on for 48 hours at the last moment and drive off to Robin Hood Country.

Got pissed up at the wedding and got back to a couple of mail boxes full of 2g glyph sales and an auction house full of cheap herbs. I blew 1500g on herbs.

So I finished crafting up to 20 of each glyph after spending hours milling etc. and got back on track.

Total Prize Fund:
20/10 24,020
22/10 27,126
25/10 30,490

But now I am up to a full stack of each glyph so all crafting from now on will be replacement, so I can keep my gold from sales :P

Still not found a reliable way to get rid of Snowfalls but I've nearly liquidated my Arctic Fur supply.

Night.

Goblin Update .. Err 5?? The Value of Herbs.

Anyway, I know we're about 21 hours early on this bi-daily update but was just gonna mention that I changed my tactic.

1. I have reduced my 1ink threshold down to 2g99s. Any profit is profit man!!
2. I have reduced my 2ink threshold down to 4g99s. ditto
3. I have stopped keeping track of the price I sold every single fucking glyph. Enough is Enough. Seriously though. I ran it for 4 weeks. I have a fair idea of the most popular glyphs now.
4. [observation] Post-Server maintenance is a good time to get on early.
5. I've stopped keeping a close track on what herbs give best value... see below
6. Sideline. I'm buying up cheap Borean Leather and BL scarps in advance of 3.3 I'm also SLOWLY selling off my Arctic Fur. Fur will be buyable for 10 Heavy Borean Leather. As everyone else has predicted BL will explode. Arctic Fur will dive. That's what I am banking on.
7. Ramping up my Netherweave bag business. Those fuckers sell fast don't they?

So...

After 1778 mills Tiger Lilly gave me 4471 pigments and 448 Icys. That 2.51 pigments/mill and 1.00 Icy/stack.

After 963 mills Deadnettle gave me 2446 pigments and 245 Icys. That's 2.54 pigments and 1.00 Icy/stack.

That's good enough data for now for them mofos

As for the others? I've done 155 Adders, 217 Icethorn and 12 Lich mills to give 3.01, 2.90 and 3.33 pigments/mill and 0.53, 0.53 and 0.75 Icys/mill.

These ones need much more volume to give me a definitive answer but the numbers are looking good for a 3pigs/mill and a 2icy/stack.

Also, VERY IMPORTANT. I need to level my bankers up to level 10. God forbid I got hacked but if I did: Bliztards apparently won't restore characters under level 10.

Advice to you: LEVEL YOUR BANKERS TO LEVEL 10!!

Reduce Your Latency by 80%

Or some such nonsense.

Another blog I have found recently is AH-Whoring (via Caffeine's blog) and Sarainy the AH Whore found a great way to reduce latency.

Anyway, this is an extension to what Doom (RIP) found for me some time ago. Back then I managed to reduce my latency from 270 down to 40.

Now I'm on a new machine and had forgotten all about that and have been sitting at about 240ms. So I installed the above fix and now I'm sat around 60ms. Nice!!!

Cheers Sar. Maybe I'll try the Auctioneer Getall scan and see if I still get disconned!!

So, in honour of Doomilias. Sarainy YOU are now the genius!!!

AH and Mail Box at the Same Time

OMFG. I just found this on Hit The Cap!

OMG I love it. Did you get that? What is it about? Tella has found a way to stand by the mail box in Stormwind and interact with the auctioneer the other side of the wall. *creams pants*

Cool. Cheers Tella.

Goblin Update

I dunno what happened yesterday, there wasn't an in game event or anything, but my glyph sales briefly went through the roof with probably 3x as many sales in a couple of hours of the evening than I'd usually get in the whole of a day.

Weirder still, this was only on the Main Glyph seller, not the seller with all the caster glyphs. Odd.

The only thing I can think of is that a major undercutter couldn't get online. And that that undercutter has decided the caster glyphs are not worth the hassle, which they're probably not!!

Who knows, I can't complain I got several 59g sales in a row too - Woot!!

So, How are the stocks looking?

Well, Assuming an unsold glyph had a value of 5g, and IotS have a potential Glyph value of 4g50s and Snowfall has a sale value of 13g then we have the following wealth figures for the last week:

14/10 17,830g
16/10 20,690g
18/10 21,757g
20/10 24,042g

Averages about 1K / day. Rubbish. But at leat I have 1.7K of cash and aim to be moving more assets into cash.

Hallows End Achievement Guide 2009

Starts this Sunday morning at 01:00 server time - that's Midnight BST - yes we are still in summer time in England.

Achievements guide update coming soon....

OK, Achievement Guide Update ... that's gonna be hard, I never wrote one to start with, either that or it's sat in draft format 8 pages back where I never venture anymore!!

So, without Further ado I had better get this guide started.

To get the Title "The Hallowed" you have to get the meta achievement "Hallowed Be Thy Name" - apt eh? yeah I like it.

Anywhose.... for that you need the following achievements:

Bloody Easy:
Trick or Treat - Get some candy from a bucket in an Inn.
That Sparkling Smile - Use a tooth pick

Not Too Bad:
The Saviour of Hallows End - Complete a quest to save a village from the HH
Rotten Hallow - Crash the Wickerman Festival and clean up stink bombs

Little More Difficult/Annoying:
G.N.E.R.D. Rage - 50 HKs while you have the G.N.E.R.D. buff

Time Consuming/More Annoying:
Check Your Head - Use a weighted Jack-o-lantern on a player of each race
The Masquerade - Get transformed into a bat, ghost, Leper Gnome, Ninja, Pirate, Skeleton and Wisp.
Tricks and Treats of Azeroth - Do the tricks and Treats of Kalimdor, Eastern Kingdoms and Outland. Go to lots of candy buckets all over the world.

Bloody Hard If You're Not Level 80:
Bring me the Head of... Oh Wait - Kill the Headless Horseman
Out With It - Eat so many tricky treats you get an upset tummy
Sinister Calling - Obtain a Sinister Squashling and a Hallowed Helm

Not included in Meta:
The Mask Task - WTF - what's so hard about getting 1 fucking mask. Fucking QQers have won again, lazy M&S wankers.
A Mask for all Occasions - Stupid if it was included.

The Walkthrough:
OK, so we'll start with the meat and potatoes of the meta achievment Trick or Treat. You'll be doing a lot of this, so it's nice that the first time gives you an achievement. Go to the Inn near the bank in Ironforge. Speak to the innkeeper and get trick/treated. He'll give you a treat bag. This has a chance to contain one of the many things you'll need like Tooth Picks, Hallowed Wands, Masks, Hallowed Helm and Sinister Squashling. So make sure you do this every hour (you can only do it once an hour). Now click the Candy Bucket with a big yellow ! This will give you a handful of candy and your first achievement.

The Saviour of Hallows End.
Now head down to Kharanos and pick up the quests for firefighting etc, do them all and make sure to pop into the inn for the Candy Bucket. The next quest should be "Let The Fires Come" this will involve the headless horseman setting fire to the village. Hopefully there will be lots of people around to help but the fires out. Hang around for the headless horseman to attack and make sure to help put out the fires. When he is dead at the end of the event loot the pumpkin he leaves behind so you can go hand in the quest for your next achievement. If he wins you could always hang around waiting for another try or when you get to Goldshire hope he is there then. Don't hang around wasting time.

Rotten Hallow
OK, moving on. Lets pop to Loch Modan for the Candy Bucket there, then head up to Menethil Harbour and do the Candy Bucket there before heading over to Southshore. Here you'll pick up the 2 quests from Sergeant Hartman near the inn. Pop into the inn and do the Candy Bucket. If the stink bombs are about (orange clouds near the quest giver) then use the cleanser, otherwise head west to Tirisfal Glades through Silverpine forest. Just after you enter Silverpine you will come across some people hanging around, get close enough and you should get a quest complete for the Wickerman festival. Head back to Southshore and han around for the stink bombs if you haven't got it done already.

Keep on Moving.
Now you want to go get the Candy Bucket from Aerie Peak in the Hinterlands and Lights Hope Chapel in Easter Plaguelands. Hope the horde haven't killed the Southshore flight master. Annoying fuckers have a habit of doing that on my server!!

Hearth:
Your HS should be available now so HS and portal to Stormwind (your hearthstone is set to Dalaran right?). Stop off and do the Candy Bucket in the Trade District on the way to Goldshire. When in Goldshire do the Candy Bucket, maybe refresh your trick or treat with the Innkeeper if it's been an hour and then finish the Headless Horseman fires thing if you didn't do that in Kharanos.

Keep on truckin':
You have some more travelling to do. Redridge, Darkshire, Sentinel Hill and Booty Bay await your sweet tooth. Once you have done here you will have picked up Tricks and Treats of Eastern Kingdoms. You are 1/3 of the way to Tricks and Treats of Azeroth.

Over to Kalimdor:
You need to go do these Candy Buckets. Ratchet > Dustwallow Marsh (Theramore) > Dustwallow Marsh (Mudsprocket) > Tanaris > Silithus > Feathermoon Stronghold > Nijel's Point > Stonetalon Mountains > Ashenvale > Auberdine > Winterspring > Exodar (Seat of the Naaru) > Azure Watch > Blood Watch > Darnassus (Craftsmen's Terrace) > Dolanaar.

Take a Break ... Take a Shit.
...Or do some PvP. You have should have plenty of G.N.E.R.D.S. by now and you will surely be sick and fucking tired of travelling and clicking Candy Buckets. Your Dentist certainly is. Or is that Orthodontist or something else overly complicated like the Americans like to do. DENTIST - much easier to say. LOL. It doesn't come over well on a blog. But I'm having a laugh. My american friends know my sense of humour. You don't. You'll have to get over it if your a septic. Thats A septic. Not aseptic.

Speaking of which, you should also have managed to loot some Tooth Picks by now. Use one. *cough* That Sparkling Smile.

Ramble Ramble Ramble, now where the fuck was I? Oh yeah. You should have plenty of GNERDS now so go into Alterac Valley. Find a nice hiding place in the home base. Neck some GNERDS and then /afk* those 50HKs you need. Et Voila G.N.E.R.D. Rage, Oh and while your in there use some of those weighted jack-lantern's you've got (What? You haven't got any yet? Tough Shite, keep trying!) on peeps for Check Your Head.

Still Bored?
OK, HS back to Dullaran and finish off putting Jack-o-Lanterns on people so that you can get Check Your Head. I am sure that last year it was certain classes of a race. ie put a pumpkin on a Tauren Warrior, Orc Shaman, Dranei Priest etc... Or was it Female Taruen, Male Orc etc. I am pretty damm sure Blizz dummed down something else. Twats.

Anyway, so while your sat in Dullaran bored out of your tiny little mind you have something else to do. You will be spamming /trade asking to buy/sell/trade your wands so that you can get The Masquerade.

Anyway ... On To Outland:
...and these Candy Buckets. Shattrath(TF) > Allerian Stronghold(TF) > Wildhamer Stronghold(SMV) > Aldor/Scryer Inn(SMV) > Telaar(Nag) > Telredor(ZM) > Cenarion Refuge(ZM) > Orebor Harborage(ZM) > Sylvanaar(BEM) > Toshey's Station(BEM) > Evergrove(BEM) > Area 52(NS) > Stormspire(NS) > Temple of Telhamat(HP) > Honour Hold(HP)

Once you've done that lot you have Tricks and Treats of Azeroth.

The Hard Part:
Now all you have to do is kill the Headless Horseman in the Graveyard of Scarlet Monastery for Bring me the Head of... Oh Wait. Then eat a load of Tricky Treats that you loot from his body and throw ... err ... get Out With It. And pray and pray and pray that the Hallowed Helm and the Sinister Squashling drop for Sinister Calling.

Guys and Gals - This is probably what's gonna fuck you over. Neither HW nor EB could get either last year. (level 1 alts managed it - fucks sake) HW managed to get the helm, that is all. That is the main reason why EB still hasn't got the Violet Proto Drake and HW got it yesterday. Rather than when Brewfest hit.

So anyway, you have to hope they drop. The other alternative is you make damm sure you hit those fucking Innkeepers every hour in the hope of a drop from the Treat Bag. And make sure you stop an Inn burning down every day in case you find one in a Crudely Wrapped Gift.

3 ways to get either or both of them. All a pain in the fucking arse. Good Luck :P

*don't actually type /afk. If you were thinking about typing /afk at that point then try Alt-F4 instead, it's much less painful.
