Hallows End 2018 Daily Tricky Treat Rotation

So, with Hallows End upon is and Ancient Heirloom Armor Casing, Timeworn Heirloom Armor Casing and Weathered Heirloom Armor Casing up for grabs at 250-450 Tricky Treats you have a lot of running around and a lot of daily quests to be doing.

If, like me, you have ten thousand alts and you want them all to experience the joys of a trip to the dentist with rotten teeth than you had better get your daily routine stream-lined. Luckily for you I have done it here.

Check out the 'Hag'. I don't know about you but I'd give her one, or two, or three!

Notes for low levels
If you don't have the garrison or it's not high enough level, then skip it and hearth to Dalaran after the dungeon instead, if you have not got Dalaran yet then you will not be able to get to the Wicked Witch and you could run to Undercity from Andhoral but I don't think it's worth the time and effort.

Pick up the heirloom toys to grab a basic set of flighpoints: To Modernize the Provisioning of Azeroth and Surviving Kalimdor.

Pre-requisites for Dailies
  • Hearthstone set to Bradensbrook in Valsharah.
  • Dalaran Hearthstone.
  • Garrison Hearthstone.
  • Stormwind Hearthstone Cloak.

One offs.
  • Make sure you pick up the nougat quest before running around the inns.
  • Whilst in New Dalaran grab “Beware of the Crooked Tree” from Duroc Ironjaw next to the candy bucket in the Legerdemain lounge, also grab the candy bucket!
  • Grab the candy bucket from your faction Inn in Dalaran.
  • You’ll probably need to fly to Bradensbrook the first time to set you Hearthstone there. (Don’t worry about Boralus, you can get back there from the Stormwind Portal Room).
  • Then hand in the Crooked Tree quest before doing the daily.

Dailies
  1. Start off at Goldshire Inn
  2. Collect “Stop the Fires!” or “Let the Fires Come!” quests.  If it’s not available because the Pumpkin quest is active, wait for it to despawn then /reload.
  3. Put out the fires, starting with the Forge chimney and working anti-clockwise.
  4. If the horseman is currently being fought on the ground grabbing the Let the Fires Come quest may auto-complete.
  5. Head to the Gates of Stormwind
  6. Collect all quests
  7. Talk to Gertrude Fenlow to go to the Undercity
  8. Once you’ve started flying queue for the Headless Horseman
  9. Continue with Bombing Undercity
  10. If the Headless Horseman queue pops wait until the last possible second before clicking Enter Dungeon (You will NOT enter dungeon yet).
  11. Say in /i or /p “Just waiting to dismount from the undercity broom”
  12. Finish the bombing and click the Return button.
  13. As soon as you dismount, click on group finder icon and select “Teleport to Dungeon”
  14. Moan in /i or /p about how long it took to dismount from the broom whilst lol-rolling the HH
  15. When the Headless Horseman dies use your GARRISON Hearthstone.
  16. (If the dungeon hasn’t popped yet start clearing up the stink bombs in Stormwind until lit it pops, then carry out the step above).
  17. Collect the four Garrison quests and fly to Socrethar’s Rest.
  18. Lol-roll the quests and fly back to your garrison and hand them in
  19. Hearthstone to Bradensbrook.
  20. Fly North west to the Hag of the Crooked Tree at 35,56 and accept the quest.
  21. Click on the Crooked Tree Cauldron to accept her curse and enter the weird realm and go kill the witch Aria Sorrowheart.
  22. Remember to interrupt Aria’s Scream
  23. Loot one of the sisters hats (hopefully)
  24. Hearthstone to Dalaran, enter the Chamber of the Guardians and use the portal. Go all the way to the bottom and select the middle portal on the right (Dalaran Center).
  25. As soon as you spawn use your Magic Broom or fall to the ground and use you normal mount
  26. Head North to Undercity
  27. Land just before and to the left of the Wickerman and stand at the near end of the bridge
  28. Use your dousing agent
  29. Ensure quest complete pops then use your Stormwind cloak to return to Stormwind.
  30. Leave the Stormwind portal room and do/finish the Clean Up Stormwind quest as you head back to the gates.
  31. Click the fire to the left of the gates then head over the road and hand all the quests in.
  32. Head back to the Goldshire Inn and log out until tomorrow.

Another Logic Screw Up

I was still on my mage doing some mining and the local quests when I did the Bombs Away quest. This has you collect 8 bobs from round and about and then plant the, 4 at a time, to blow up horde demolishers.

Well, I think they changed this quest half way through development and then forgot to update the quest text appropriately.

I reckon, the originally intended for you to bring the bobs back and then go off on another quest to plant them, but then put it all into one quest. Why?

You'll see in this completion text that the bombs look particularly nasty? What? I've already used them to bob the demolishers!

BeefAss - 24 Hours In - First Impressions plus Battle for Azeroth Levelling Tips.

After 24 hours of BeefAss I got my main, Marcusmaximi, 11 bars into level 110 and left him sat with the castaways who got shipwrecked by the Sirens.

The first logic f**k up I encountered was here. They were stranded, they talk about beig stuck, yet they have a flight path!!

I did my first dungeon on Marcus and found that a 100% pure healer has a lot of downtime and no mana sink. Add to that a holy paladin seems to be geared towards doing some damage.

This really is the closest I've seen pallies being to real hybrid healer/damage dealers since vanilla!

I then went off on a tangent and put as any more alts through Darkshore and got them ready for Kul Tiras before looking into Insightful Rubelites as a levelling aid.

At the time I looked they were up on the Auction house for a minimum of 2,500g so I decided to get a mining character out there to get some ore!

But not before looking into other levelling tips, here is my top 5 list:

1 - Insightful Ruby - Only get 1 - See next post
2 - Guild Banner - XP boost every 10 mins
3 - War Mode - turn on war mode in Stormwind. Turn off before going to Zandalar.
4 - Azeroth Autopilot - everyone raves about this addon. Review coming soon.
5 - Empty bags and rotate alts who have rested XP (that's 6, but two little ones!)

So back to the game I went, I took the mage up to Stormsong, as I didn't want to repeat the same content Marcusmaxi had already done.

He started mining and getting some quests done then bumped into some rude people!

There are some new additions to model stances. NPCs dont just have one look and walk back and forth or just stand there.

The water effects are cool as well, even with just level 5 graphics the water looks cool I can't remember if it was like that before though!

What most impressed me though was the lack of restarts and NO login queues even on Argent Dawn which is a FULL server!

Back to mining...

Legion Companion App Broken with Patch 7.2

So after only discovering the Legion Companion App yesterday I tried to login today and it would only get as far as the character select screen.

Whenever I tried to select a character nothing happens. There is offline by each of the character names - obviously because I am at work.

I then realised it's patch 7.2 day and maybe the realms are offline, but Blizztards Realm Status Page says the realm is up. I can't actually log into the game at work to check if this is accurate!!!

According to this post it's not just me and Blizztards do know something is up. Bloody Typical!

Legion Companion App

On the subject of being behind the curve, I've just discovered the Legion Companion app on my phone.

Thinking about it, I do vaguely remember hearing about it about 6 months ago on The Instance but then proceeded to totally forget about it.

This is going to make my levelling so much quicker, because when I get home I spend most of the early evening grabbing a few minutes here and there to get the garrison (sic) quests kicked off on all my characters, leaving next to no time for actual levelling/order resource gathering and end game world questing.

Now I can go on the app when I get into work and kick some garrison (sic) quests off. Then at lunchtime, check up on them and start others if applicable and again just before I go home. (In reality at any hour during the day, just don't tell the boss!!!)

Also, it looks like (I'll confirm when I get home) you don't need your character to be in your order hall to actually do the quests, which means I can leave them in their quest areas allowing them an even quicker kick start.

Update: Confirmed (although it is rumoured that the character has at some point had to have visited the order hall mission board) characters logged out in the field can access the missions on the app. Same as auction house posting in the mobile armoury thingy.

I'm also hoping that I can be logged into one character on my PC and whilst they are flying between quest areas that I can log into another character on the app and deal with their garrison quests. Fingers crossed!

Update 2: You can't be logged onto the game and access characters on the same account through the Companion app.

Burnsprocket is Third Max Level

Woah, I'm really mixing things up this expansion.

Usually I enjoy the levelling experience with my main, Marcus Maximi and complete all the quests before really looking at other characters.

Marcus, was the only character I managed to get to level cap in Vanilla, which isn't surprising as it took so long to level back then. Arguably, this gave the original game longevity. The end game may as well have been an entirely different game!

For many it took a fair proportion of Vanilla's 2 years to reach level cap; it took me nearly 5 months. Alts were mostly unheard of and were used either as bankers or a way to hide from the guild and just tinker. Reaching level cap on an alt was quite rare. My main alt Runesprocket the gnome warlock (or Marcusminimi back then) didn't hit level 60 to well into TBC!

Now, when Marcus is out of rested XP I'll usually switch over to Runesprocket on my son's account and keep him close behind and he generally hits level cap during the relevant expansion and the other alts may or may not keep up.

This held true for TBC and Wrath, especially during Wrath as this was the time when I levelled MM and Rune up together whilst multi boxing, with Rune hitting cap a day behind MM.

Come Cataclysm though, MM hit cap in March and the Shaman, Altruista was next to cap in December, just ahead of Rune who didn't hit cap until January.

And then with MOP things got changed up again, with me not paying too much attention to the expansion and actually letting my subscription lapse for extended periods for the first time. MM was the only character to hit level cap within the expansion and was the first time that my son managed to get his character to cap during the expansion.

It was 2 months into WoD before Rune hit MoP's level cap and he was closely followed by all my other characters except Porkpie the warrior.

During WoD I regained my mojo and for the first time managed to get all my characters to level cap. Marcus managed to hit cap in less than 50 days, a record, and was followed by Rune 4 months later. 3 months after that my priest, DocMarcus, beat the neglected Shaman to cap by a month!

My son then got his warrior to level cap, 6 months later, the following April and he was followed by Burnsprocket the mage 3 weeks later and the newly rolled and level boosted worgen rogue, Pedigreechum, 6 days after.

The Death Knight also made his level cap debut with 2 months to go before the expac only leaving the Hunter to languish, unloved at level 90 and the warrior still down at 75!

Now I've slowed down a little, all the lvl 100 alts are gaining some levels through order hall missions, but only really get out into the world to grab some more order hall resources.

It took 99 days for MM to hit cap and 2 months later the rogue hit cap followed today by the mage, Burnsprocket.

Poor old Runesprocket is still sat at 103, with the other characters on my son's account which has spent more of the current expansion un-subscribed than subscribed!!!

So, currently this expac we're looking at Paladin, Rogue, Mage.

Which (I'm going to really annoy warlocks out there) is very close to how this blog started out.

Heal Stab Dot was the URL I chose for the blog, based on the fact I was playing Paladin as a healer at end game and enjoying warlock dots and rogue stabbings as my hide from the guild alts!!!

Now the lock has been replaced by a mage and the original Night Elf rogue is sat at level 46 on my 3rd account (which hasn't been active since the start of Wrath) and has been replaced with the new Rogue.

I would imagine that all my characters, including the Hunter and Warrior, and maybe even the Monks that my son and I occasionally play with together, will make level cap this expansion as it becomes easier and easier to level, but I wonder who will be next and who will be the 2nd to cap in the next expansion.

6.2 Mail Box Improvement

I've finally got round to emptying my mains mail box of 250+ emails. Why now?

Because most of those mails were from the postmaster for salvage that couldn't be delivered to my bags.

Why had I left it so long? Because you couldn't open all. This was because once you had removed the items from the mail you then had to go and physically delete the empty mail. Now it auto-deletes once it is empty. Finally!

24/25 Quest Log Bug

So, I've been getting this error recently that says "Quest Log" but my quest  log only says 24/25. I put a ticket in and the response I got was that the Bonus Objective quests in a zone invisibly count for one of your quests.

WoW - The Chopper - Horde and Alliance

Last night I remembered to log on to my Hordey and check out the Chopper.

I did spend sometime wondering how to get hold of it; it wasn't in the mail. Did I have to go get it from a vendor?

Well, it turns out I already knew it?!? Had I logged on drunk and taken it out of the mail box?

I heard on The Instance Podcast the other day that the Alliance will have to spend 100,000 gold to get their version!

Turps said he definitely would as not many people would have it. I will too for that exact reason but judging by the look of the Horde version it won't be worth anywhere near that amount!

WoW - Guild Heroic Garrosh Down

I popped on to WoW this afternoon and did a couple of bits and bobs. Boreas asked if I wanted to come along to Siege tonight.

Well, he used to ask me a lot, but I never made it along, so he stopped asking. I said I probably could a bit later, he said it was flex so that should be fine.

Well, after doing all my other bits and bobs, I logged on and proceeded to try and find my headphones - spent quite a while cursing about where they could have gone before finding them in the first place I looked!

Then when I got on I couldn't get them to work with Teamspeak. Finally I got to hear the crew and the game but could not speak. That will suffice.

So I got a summon to the Shaman (who I think had already been downed) and joined 11 of my guildies(well most of the were) and off we pop to Nazgrim and he dropped like a fly and a door opened up behind him. Ah! That's how you access the next stage. I've only ever done this on LFR so usually that is where the raid disbands!

So off to Malkorok we go and he goes down and I get Malkorok's Tainted Dog Tags to replace Cloudstrike Pendant. Heroic Warforged no less!

Oops! At this iLevel I should change my loot specialisation to Holy, which Boreas reminds me of!

Wowhead says this is no longer available in game. I don't know what that is all about!

So we're in Heroic, which is the old Normal. I thought we were in Normal which is the old flex (hence the flexible raid size). So Heroics are now flexible too?

Everyone else is moaning about no loot drops. At least I have something!

So, now it is off to the Spoils and again a nice easy fight over before we realise it!

Next up is Thok and he gives us our first sign of trouble. We wipe at 0% when a tank and a healer have got him down the last few % - painful!

It was a pretty scrappy attempt so we were lucky to get that far. Attempt 2 goes a lot better, I even get targeted and manage not to drag him through the raid!

So then it's on to seigecrafter for another 2 shot.

Paragons next and this was nice an easy, which is good because I hate this fight and then on to Garrosh.

I can't remember how many attempts we had on Garrosh. Only 3 I think. We did the stack on the tank tactic in phase 1 even though I instinctively ran to Green on the first defiled weapon (whatever it's called!).

We didn't spend too long and he dropped quite soon. It was at this point that I realised why Boreas had made sure we had out loot specs sorted. This was the guilds first go at the Heroic* Garrosh where it qualified as a guild achievement so we got a lovely heirloom mace:

Yep, that'll replace my Kardris' Scepter!

Everyone had being saying how ridiculously easy this was, i can't wait to give it another go!

* the old normal

WoW - Order of the Cloud Serpent

So tonight, 2 days later, I hit exalted with the cloud serpent dudes.

Riding on my Onyx Cloud Serpent :)

WoW - Waiting for 6.0.2

So, last night I finished all the mad stuff before 6.0.2 hit. I was trying to level Runesprocket the warlock from 87 to 90 before the pre-expac patch hit so that he could start the legendary quest-line. Obviously that wasn't going to happen!

The Americans have already got 6.0.2 but we have to wait until tomorrow morning to get it. I suppose it's their turn! So what am I going to do?

Well, it's time to restart those rep grinds.

Ooo, I haven't finished the Cloud Serpents. So I pop over to Jade Forest and pick up the quests. After a quick relog over to the banker to pick up some mats for bandages and cooking I am soon on the  dailies and knock them all out in about 20 minutes.

After loooking at how much more rep is needed it looks like I stopped doing these dailies 3 days away from exalted! DOH!

Whilst fishing up the minnows needed for one of the dailies I also got this ...

No back over to Halfhil to grind some more Lotus and Celestials before going to do bugland!

WoW - The Raid Browser and Ordos

Tonight I booted up the raid browser and queued up to do an Ordos fight.I didn't even realise this was here or how useful it is until finishing off the Wrathion quests on Timeless Isle!

So I signed up as a healer and was almost instantly in an Ordos raid.

I admitted that I was a newbie and someone gave me a few pointers - Stay out of the bad. Keep away from people with bad.

We took 2 attempts to get him down but down he went and I got ...

...a prot/ret helmet as I had left my loot specialisation on protection! DOH!

Never mind, it'll be good for levelling in Warlords of Destruction!

(Again, 6.0.2 stats as I forgot to get a screenhsot when it dropped!)

WoW - Wrathion? You Mad Bro? Judgement of the Black Prince

To finish the Chapter V achievement after getting your legendary cloak you need to go fight Garrosh. Even if you have beaten him before.

So I joined up with LFR and got into a raid just starting. Great I'll ave to do the whole thing! Well it didn't go too bad until the Garrosh fight itself.

It's been a while since I've done Garrosh and apparently the tactic is now to stand on the tank and just soak the defiles (or whatever they're called here!) during phase 1 and only swap between the two other spots in phase 2.

Well we started with a couple of stupid wipes before actually getting to phase 2 and then another wipe when the room filled with empowered blahblahs.

Eventually we got him down on about attempt 4 or 5 with a very scatty fight. A kill is a kill though! So back to the Inn to see Wrathion again.

Looks like he isn't very happy ...

Wrathion says: Idiot king!
Wrathion says: Fools! Imbeciles!
Wrathion says: A complete waste!
Wrathion says: You were there! Is it true then? What happened in Orgrimmar?
Wrathion says: That fool king!!
Wrathion says: I did everything in my power. The whole world was his, he needed only seize it!
Wrathion says: Oh sure, another year of fighting. Enormous casualties trying to take Thunder Bluff. But the rest of the Horde would've caved, eventually.
Wrathion says: TONG! DRINK! NOW!
Wrathion says: What? Yes, I was backing the Alliance.
Wrathion says: I thought Hellscream's victory was assured before he turned half of his Horde against him. So I changed my allegiance.
Wrathion says: Oh, don't look so surprised! I'm a black dragon. My loyalties are my own.
Wrathion says: But that idiot, IDIOT Wrynn! "High King" indeed!
Wrathion says: Why did he allow another warchief? He could've united the world under the Alliance banner. What a fool I was to trust his ambition!
Wrathion says: Should've taken over the throne room myself. Like Auntie Onyxia. Get things DONE.
Tong the Fixer says: Enough!!
Wrathion says: Uhh... wha?
Tong the Fixer says: Talk! Talk! Talk!
Tong the Fixer says: Always you speak. Never do you listen! You ignore the lessons of Pandaria!
Tong the Fixer says: You see, there is balance in all things. Wisdom etched in our very fur: Black and white. Darkness and light.
Tong the Fixer says: When the last emperor hid our land from the rest of the world, he also preserved the homeland of our ancient enemy, the mantid. Why did he do this?
Tong the Fixer says: He did so to keep the land whole. Living with the mantid for ten thousand years has made us both STRONG.
Tong the Fixer says: So it is with your Alliance and your Horde. They are not strong despite one another; they are strong BECAUSE of one another.
Tong the Fixer says: You mistake your greatest strength for weakness. Do you see this?
Wrathion says: ...you ...you're just a WAITER!
Wrathion says: I promise you this: I will stop at nothing to prepare this world for the battle to come.
Wrathion says: Next time, I will leave nothing to chance.
Wrathion says: NOTHING!
Tong the Fixer says: ...He destroyed my inn. He left no tip. He is not nice.
Wrathion's agents whisper quietly to one another.

The End is Nigh ...

So tonight I finally logged back on and went to Timeless Isle and handed in "A Timeless Discovery" and then picked up "Secrets of the Timeless Isle" and then handed it straight in! Then some twats trained some Blazebound and Flamecore elites straight to the quest giver area and killed me! Thanks kk!

Then I picked up "The Emperors Way" and joined the raid browser with /rb

Within a few minutes I was transported to another realm (eek Scary!) and into a Yu'lon fight and then straight into a Niuza fight afterwards. Then people left and I was left standing there with only a few people in the raid.

Then the horde attacked. I tagged Chi'Ji and then died a few times, including to a horde attack. I didn't know if I got credit for it and then I sat there trying to find the Celestial Challenge achievement in my achievement pane.

Then Xuen got pulled and I tapped him and he died and I got the achievement! Woot!

So back to Wrathion and all the dudes start talking to me ...

Wrathion says: Champion... you've done it...
Wrathion says: Few mortals possess such spirit, such power. Believe me - I have tested many!
Lorewalker Cho says: A legend is born!
Anduin Wrynn says: This is history in the making...
Kairoz says: ...Interesting.
Xuen says: Hero, you are an inspiration!
Chi-Ji says: I knew you were destined for greatness.
Niuzao says: Not bad.
Yu'lon says: The pandaren will sing your praises for ages to come.
Wrathion says: To complete our great work, we will need a sacred place.
Wrathion says: Travel to the Vale of Eternal Blossoms, and meet me at the Seat of Knowledge.

Once back at the seat of knowledge I let Wrathion tell my story and then handed in "A Pandaren legend" which rewarded me with Timeless Essence of the Black Dragonflight - use it on your cloak to make it ORANGE!

Then you can take the quest "Judgement of the Black Prince" which requires you to complete the Siege of Orgrimmar raid and kill Garrosh.

It doesn't matter if you have already killed him. You need to do it again!

I had heard that it takes 10,000 gold to get a new cloak and loads more to upgrade it. Well it cost me 7,000 gold and 87 gold for the upgrade to get my retribution version.

Beware, if you have 2 epic cloaks in your bag and use the timeless essence it only gets applied to the first cloak in your bag(the lowest slot number) not the first cloak you acquired..
