Jade Forest AFK Quest

Well, it wasn't quite AFK.

The Sully, Rell and blah blah quest started and it looked for all the world like a sit back and watch what happens quest.

So I sat back and watched ... nothing ... turned out you had to take control of the characters to tell their story.

Well that was confusing.

In other news my Phillips surround sound 5.1 system (which to be honest has always been a load of bollocks) has been making a lot of low frequency noise recently.

I have taken to kicking the living shit out of it until it goes quiet again. Admitedly this will eventually result in me having no sound system for my PC (until I transfer over the identical unit from PC #2 - which is also a piece of shite!!!)

However, it does mean that I'll then be forced to replace it with a new sound system, preferably something that isn't crap!! ... but ... that costs money ... great [sad face]

I have also caught up with The Mana Cooler so have now moved onto the instance, that may take a little longer to catch up with!!!

I got a little worried as it sounded like George WoW was on the cusp of giving up Wow after a little hiatus, but he is back, hopefully for some time to come.

Well, it would be a little more but I noticed when I was cycling through the toons that Glyph Seller 2 - which was my son's mage before I commandeered her for glyph selling - appears to have 8-10 epic bags - Royal Satchels.

What are these? I checked them out on wowhead and the are high end MoP bags that are currently selling for about 5K - Cheeky little ***** - That's 50K worth of bags!!! Even more if they were selling for more when he bought them!

What's even more annoying is that they are on a level 10 mage and not my level 85 Paladin!!!

I'm Back! Again!

OK, so it looks like I may be back for a while. I may not be and I may be gone again in a few days.

I have been catching up on my podcasts. I'm working my way through all the Mana Coolers I have missed and then The Instance will get a look in and finally it'll be the turn of Twisted Nether Blogcast.

Well, listening to George Wow has gotten my interest piqued again and the last few nights I've been logging on a bit, updating addons, rebinding keys, sorting out the N52 and even doing a few quests.

Tonight I got a few (low single numbers) more quests in Green Jade Garden Wood, or whatever it's called, done and ended up escorting some fire dude to the middle of the island. When I handed that quest in I realised I was almost level 86!! WTF?? I seem to recall just after MoP hit that I did a whole load of holiday quests; but hello? Almost a whole level?

Anyway, so tomorrow night my main should be level 86 - lol 9 months after the expansion hit!!

My aim now is to get at least my main to level 90 before the fire festival starts.

What next?

Pandaria Schmandaria ...

This Pandaria malarky really hasn't gripped me.

I have logged on probably 5 times since my last blog post and logged out again after a couple of minutes.

Seems my guild is on point of implosion. There was unknown guild drama (must log onto the forums and check out what happened!!!) and the raid leader left.

Now there is 1 raid a week rather than 3 and most of the raid team have left - LOL!!

Right, gonna go do another 4 schmandaria quests then bed ...

XP From Hallows End

Well I started Hallows End having done about 6 Pandaria quests.

After visiting all the pre-Pandaria Candy buckets I am nearly half way through level 85

Back to leveling now ...

Hallows End 2012

Well doesn't seem a lot has changed this year. Currently I am touring all the worlds doing the candy baskets whilst alt-tabbed for some easy XP.

Probably not as good XP/hour as questing/grinding/running dungeons but I am doing other stuff out of game so everyones a winner.

So far every single candy bucket is still in place, even Stonetalon Mountains.

But some Padaria ones will cause you (and me) problems if you haven't finished questing in the zone as they will be phased out. So unless I level & quest pretty fast I don't think I will get the Candy Buckets of Pandaria achievement this year :(

Back Again!!

Hello

Back again I bought Mists the day after release. Had the collectors edition and 2 regular copies on pre-order from Game and was planning on going to the 23:00 opening.

The day before, or so I thought, I logged on and found out my diary was a day out - DOH!!!

Well I'd had too many shandies to go out now so I'll have to get it tomorrow thought I and went to bed :P

Tomorrow turned into late afternoon before I grabbed it and headed home, but luckily I was signed off sick from work so would have loads of time to play.

I eventually installed the collectors edition onto my account and logged in, having been advised that there is nothing to install, nice :)

I did one quest and logged out.

Several weeks later I logged back in and did some Brewfest dailies to get the latest item. But not being high enough level could not go visit Coren :(

Then I logged on a couple of days ago and did the quest to take me to Jade Forest, did the first quest there and logged out for the night.

Then I logged on this morning and have done some more quests :) I have not even opened the wrapping to get the serial number for the other 2 accounts, in fact I haven't even upgraded my 3rd account to Cata yet !!!

On the updside I have a Tier V Tan Destroyer and am training my second set of secondary skills on my Tier II medium tank on World of Tanks - LOL!!

TL;DR

Still playing WoW, also playing WoT, only installed mists on main account, done about 6 quests.

Servers Down. SNAFU

D3 all downloaded weeks ago and ready to install.

And so began the error messages.

It turns out Blizztard added 50MB on May 12th, but it wasn't a simple additional download like we had to do anyway. No, you had to re-download a new installer package and re-run it on the install directory.

This checked the initial 7GB and finally downloaded the last 50MB and THEN started the install!

OK, so all installed and at 00:01 the mad rush to logon began.

I eventually got as far as the error message "You need a battle tag" but by the time I got that created all the servers had imploded!

I then popped onto WoW and did this weeks LFR came back and the servers finally came online ...

... but you still can't get past "connecting to server".

I thought they'd learnt their lesson; obviously not!

Lunar Festival 2012

I have searched back for 4 years and cannot find a post of mine to plagiarise for this year, but hey-ho every year is diferent, so without further ado here is this year's (nearly too late) guide to Lunar Festival (creatively copied from a wowheadnews post)

As wowheadnews said, there aren't a lot of differences except that there are 9 new Cataclysm elders, faction specific - cross-faction tradeable pets and that you get gold and xp for honouring the elders.

So there you go, I'm not going to repeat everything they say over there, just go read it for yourselves!
